History

I am a second generation Ironworker.

I started in the steel business when I was 16 years old working in the shipyard with my grandfather.

Since then I’ve done it all - everything from ornamental iron to building offshore drilling rigs for Exxon Mobile.  I’ve pipelined in Saskatchewan and Alberta for years before graduating to structural steel and architectural iron.

I’ve worked in every major shop from Nova Scotia to Alberta and back again.  Now I call Ontario my “Home”.

I’m not the welder that claims to know everything.  The thing that separates a true tradesman from a welder that says ‘he knows everything’ is that the tradesman will stop and figure out the things he doesn’t know while the guy that knows everything won’t stop and ask the questions.  He will just go ahead and do it and probably make a mess of it.

The one thing that I’ve learned in the 20+ years that I’ve been doing this is that no one person can know everything about this trade.  Experience teaches you how to figure things out quickly and efficiently, but knowing it all is impossible.
